IS THIS OBJECTIVE OK for a resume that will be used for an administrative assistant job?

"To obtain an administrative assistant position which will utilize acquired knowledge, skills, and collective experience. To provide a source of upward mobility towards my career goals, while using the skills and experience I have acquired through previous employment to complete this position to the highest standard.

should i use just the first sentence? is it too long? is it too wordy and confusing?

if anyone has any revisions or good ideas PLEASE let me know i realllllly want this job!!!

I guess it’s wordy.

Here’s another take:

To work as an Administrative Assistant utilizing my skills and experience to contribute to the growth of the company and to move my career forward.

But I should tell you that objective statement in a resume is passé.

Instead of writing an objective, write a strong summary of your experience, skills, and education, in your resume, that focuses on fulfilling the needs of the employer.

Don’t worry about the objective. Think for a moment you are the employer. Are you interested in resumes that clearly focus on addressing the needs of the job and improving the bottom line of your company? Or are you interested in resumes that tell the objectives of the applicants?

If you believe in the first, turn the spotlight on a strong summary in your resume by emphasizing your experience and skills that will tell the employer how you can be an asset to the company.

Administrative assistant in an investment bank?

I was offered an internship as an administrative assistant at a private investment bank. Would anyone recommend this position for a student who wants to have a career at an investment bank?

I would like to someday become a portfolio manager, would this be a good start?

Pretty much all internships are doors for people to get into the specific industry via entry level works. (Ie answering phones, filing, running errands, data entries, making coffee… etc.) It takes time to learn the operations and then more time to learn to manage in the field, dealing with different kinds of people. So firms like people to get their feet wet — but not with company time.

Unless the firm has a specific training program of interest, it is up to the individual to observe the details, the ins and outs and create value for the experience. The point is to trade time with a chance of getting your foot in the door. If they are already familiar with a person and like him/her before graduation, that would be a good impression.
